I've been working with electronic motor speed controllers for over 40 years now, and I can tell you that it just doesn't get any better than this KBWC controller: an absolutely great product — a very useful, very low cost, beautifully engineered, motor speed controller that is also extremely easy to install and use.
A big part of its engineering beauty is its simplicity.  One glance at the circled connection diagram on the second of the four data sheets below, under the heading "2-Wire Controls without On/Off Switch" shows it all.  The heart of the controller is a Triac, which, in case you're not familiar with it, is a solid state transistor-type device, except that it works on AC voltages.  Triacs also have the added benefit of handling a decent amount power while also being known for their reliability.
The first photo above shows what's in the box we'll send you, (except for the knob; you'll get it too, I just didn't get it in the photos).  Aside from this all you'll need is a standard 2" x 4" wall box of the type used for all standard US 120vac wall sockets.  I'm sure you'll agree that it would be hard to find a simpler controller to install, especially for the money.  If you choose, of course, you can also externally add a switch and/or fuse, though they will often already be supplied within the general external circuitry.
