These are top-of-the-line manual control Heater Elements which control the amount of Overload Current allowed before the motor relay is turned off to protect the motor. The Siemens 'SMFH' series comes in 52 different sizes in which the last two digits, in this case '37', indicates the amount of current allowed before the Motor Overload Relay kicks in to turn the motor off in order to protect it.  In this case, the number 37 indicates a current range of 4.33 amps to 4.90 amps.
I sell 3 different SMFH heaters on Ebay, the SMFH24, SMFH37, and SMFH52.
It is important not to substitute these items, or any other SMFH element whose last two digits are different than the one that you are replacing
- for example, you must not substitute an SMFHxx with an SMFHyy.
And, of course, you must replace an SMFH37 with another SMFH37.
